the use of subtitles is something im really curious about
does it always represent language barriers and efforts for better communication and is it always culturally charged or can i use it for the silence or the piece and the text more as poetry?

sight unseen- whiteness and american visual culture
martin a berger
this book has actually had a of reflections of whiteness through more classical kinds of work… or traditional paintings. i haven’t found it extremely relevant to contemporary video and performance work, still, to be responsible as a white visual artist i want to explore and find it interesting to examine race in american visual culture. how whiteness and internalized white supremacy informs not only visual work but the european american structure or creation.
